"Disappointed in length of use ..." 2010-10-03
By M. Henderson (OH, USA)
I'm not picky. I'm not a complainer of "beeping" when you turn the unit on or off. Or that it's too loud on the highest setting. I didn't think it was that loud. Is the beeping annoying? Yes, more so when you have a spouse who really needs their sleep and you don't want to wake them. This heater worked GREAT for the time it actually did work (which wasn't very long. Heated a 11 x 12 room perfectly. The beeping and noise was a down side so 3.5 stars on use of product, 1 star for quality of product. Average = 2 stars.

I purchased a DeLonghi Compact MICA Panel (HHP800) and DeLonghi DCH2590ER Ceramic Heater. I enjoyed the MICA panel so much that I bought one for my son when he was born. Shortly thereafter the Ceramic Heater broke. I thought, ok, its a fluke. We used it a lot, so I purchased this one. This too broke after only one season. Meanwhile my one panel heater is going on 3 years old and my other panel is going on 2 years old. Fall is now upon us and I'm in the market to purchase another heater. Sadly, the MICA panel is no longer being sold through amazon and I'm not wasting my money on another smaller Delonghi most likely. I wish I would have complained to the company but I frankly don't have the time to go through the process. Not complaining, just being honest since it's my loss of two products.

"Noisy Heater" 2010-09-20

We won't be using this very much. Sounds like a thrashing machine. When turned up to max heating, it doesn't put out half the warmth of our old Vornado. Very disappointed.

"Annoying "BEEP"" 2010-07-16
By Joseph G. Hughes (hampton, Virginia USA)
The Delonghi heater works fine, however; each time the unit is turned on, off or adjusted it produces a shrill "beep" similar to an alarm. The extremly loud sound actually peirces your ear.I work in a quiet office and adjust the heater many times during the day. Co-workers are complaining about this annoying distraction. Everyone knows when I get chilly. No way to disable this alarm and no mention in the advertisement about the beeping. Now I have to spend the money to return the heater. What a crazy feature for this company to add to their heaters.

"Style Over Function" 2010-03-30

I have to weigh on the ongoing debate whether this device is a loud as a hair dryer or not. My vote: It is definitely as loud as a hair dryer. Actually, it is possibly louder than a hair dryer, because my unit (which sits on a hardwood floor) shakes the floor slightly when it is running, filling the room with a low-pitched booming noise, in addition to the din of the fan itself.

I purchased this heater because I have owned a DeLonghi oil-filled radiator for years which has given excellent service. Unfortunately, this new DeLonghi fan heater has been a disappointment. It does look nice, and it has a remote control. It puts out plenty of heat, so that's good.

The downsides: there is the noise factor. And the shaking, although you might not notice that if you had carpeting. (I put it on a towel.) It also makes loud and pointless beeping noises whenever you press a button or move it. Finally, even after a year of use, it emits out a toxic chemical smell for the first minute or two after it is turned on.

It's not cheap. There must be better choices out there if you want a fan heater.

"ELECTRIC HEATER WITH REMOTE" 2010-03-23
By Spindler Krause Jr. (YORKTOWN, VA.)
PACKED WELL AND SAFELY. WELL BUILT WITH OSCULATING FEATURE AND OTHER CONVENIENT OPTIONS. HOWEVER, THERMOMETER SETTING IS NOT WORKING FOR ME. I'VE READ AND REREAD THE INSTRUCTIONS [3 LANGUAGES]..I'D STILL RECOMMEND THIS HEATER. THE REMOTE WORKS FINE. BUT, I CAN'T USE THE THERMOSTAT VERY WELL. I JUST TURN IT ON AND OFF WHEN NEEDED..
