"Three units compared." 2010-10-27
By JT, Book fan (Decatur, GA)
I have older Lasko 5132. I hoped this model would be similar.

I bought a second heater to use in another room. I tried the 755320 first. I thought the digital display on the 755320 might give me more control than my 5132, which jumps in 5 degree increments. I also liked the remotes, which are identical. No relearning a new remote. The tower design is nice because it puts heat out at a good height without taking up a lot of floor space. All models had the similar timer setting. I really like that in the winter, or if I only need heat for a short time before falling asleep.

I ended up returning the 755320 for a 751320, which I hoped would match the old 5132.

On the plus side all units heat fast and work quite well. The older model has served three or more seasons and is very good.

The 755320 has incremental digital Temp setting which is good if you have a specific heat tolerance you want in the room.I liked the fact that when first started it went to 75 degrees and you could go up or down from there.

On the bad side: The newer models 755320 and 751320 do not have identical features as expected. I liked the high/low feature on the 5132. On the old model, the fan actually powered down in the low position and there was a gentler heat output. On the new models I cannot tell any difference in heat output and the fan speed is constant in both models. No low fan feature, in the low position. The fan on the 751320 is quiet, much like the old 5320. The 755320 however was noisier. It had a strange low, rhythmic droning like a bass digeridoo. That's why I gave it three stars. Obviously I returned that one.

The other difference is on the old 5132 the unit goes to low fan on the 70,65 and 60 degree settings. I liked this feature and may use the old unit in the smaller room for this reason.

Oddly none of the models allow temp control in LOW mode, it only runs on low at MAX, not at any of the preset temperatures.

Unless the 751320 develops the annoying droning, I'll keep it. It is quiet, efficient and serves the purpose. I just wish the features were consistent or described better on the website, product description and manual. If this one keeps working quietly like my old one, I'll be very happy.

"Great heater but has thermostat glitch" 2010-10-14
By Caitlyn (USA)
This little heater can heat up a medium-sized room (300 sq. ft.) very quickly with comforting, dry heat. The warm air blows out the front of the unit though the grills stay cool. I like the self-regulating auto-temperature feature, the oscillating option, and the 1 - 4 hour timer. Unfortunately after two years of use for about twice a week, the thermostat calibration seems to be off because it shuts off very early in operation before the set temperature is reached. Also, it uses a lot of power because it's plug and outlet become warm, so I wouldn't run other heavy appliances when using it. Overall it is better than many other types of heaters in that it runs quietly, heats up a room very quickly and efficiently, self-regulates (goes on and off to maintain set temperature), does not emit any odor - a biggie with me, since I cannot stand the odor of my electric oil heater (although it may have a very slight odor after not being used for a long time, which goes away quickly ), and is very lightweight. Makes a very big difference on a cold winter day/night.

Heater works well and can heat a pretty large room, but when you get your electric bill you will want to cut back on the usage.

"Great Buy!" 2010-05-23

I bought space heater about a month ago and I absolutely love it! This space heater works well and the motor is very quiet. I bought it for my office at work and it will heat the room in about an hour. Before you know it, you can feel the warmth, you soon find yourself lowering the temperature. I'm not an electrician, but the chord itself feels very safe because its not the typical stiff white plastic type. The remote control is a very nice touch too! I would recommend this product to anyone.

DO NOT BUY LASKO PRODUCTS!I HAD THIS MODEL FOR LITTLE LESS THAN 3 YEARS, USED IT IN LIVING ROOM DURING WINTER MONTHS ONLY. IN JAN 2010,THE UNIT STOPPED AND I GOT BURNING SMELL.

WHEN CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AT LASKO, THEY DO NOT FIX THIS, DO NOT HAVE PARTS FOR THIS. THERE IS A SPECIAL PART FOR RUNNING THE FAN AND THEY LASKO DOES NOT CARRY THEM. THE LADY AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID-THROW IT AWAY, BUY NEW! I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE THESE LASKO PRODUCTS AND HOW LONG THEY HAVE WORKED, BUT I WILL NEVER BUY LASKO AGAIN AND NOBODY SHOULD!

SHAME ON SUCH A MANUFACTURER!
