"Excellent heater for the size!!" 2010-10-21

Even though the model number here says something different, the operating manual has it listed as Model 5805. My husband and I bought this ceramic heater for our camper and loved it.

"I'm ( only )a space heater" 2010-10-21
By home body (Mi.)
Deciding on purchasing a space heater to keep our 11x11 foot parlor warm. This is the room we sit and watch TV and read our paper.

The house is over 110 years old. The walls are not insulated but are very thick.

I purchased the Lasko 760,000 Cermic Cyclonic heater for this room only.I turned it on and and after three hours found I could not raise the temperture more then 69 degrees. The next day I called the Lasko company and explained my problem to one of their technicians.

He explaind this is a ( space heater only ),If you have an opened area next to this room it will suck the heat from your room and try to heat the cold part of the house too. This made sense. The weather outside Temp. was now 52 degrees

So I did an experiment!! The room has a very large archway maybe guessing 7 feet by 7 feet. I took an old blanket and hung it down over the archway so no heat could pass through.

I turned on the heater and within an hour I was up to 72 degrees

I turned down the automatic control to 70, we watched three hours of shows and the heater hardly came back on.

So I went one more step.

I brought down our oil filled heater with 7 fins Made by Lackwood.

1500 watt. I let the room cool to 69 degrees turned on the heater on 600 watts and dialed to half power and with in one hour I had the room at 71 degrees.

So the question is how good are space heaters the answer is what space do you want to heat. For added exp. I turned on a 8 inch fan

pointed at the ceiling on the lowest speed, this really got the room warm,
I hope this helps you decide on a space heater for your needs.

We plan on hitting the Salvation Army for a nice set of drapes and rods. this will look better then a blanket.

Ps I'm looking at pocket doors next year?

"Great heater" 2010-10-17

We ordered this heater for our recently finished family room in the basement. The room is over 400 Square feet and this heater works wonderfully. This heater is also a very safe option for those with young children. Would highly recommend to others looking for a very efficient heater.

"Lasko Portable Heater" 2010-09-27

Have used this heater for several weeks now, and it does a great job of heating whichever room I use it in. I agree that the baffles can be used to direct warm air straight upward or directly out away from the unit, but cannot adjust to hit the floor. The unit is compact, fits nicely against a wall, and the best feature of this unit is the fan is strong but is very quiet, so I don't have to turn up the tv at all. I use it as supplemental heat when I am watching tv late at night, and another great feature is the easy to use timer that can shut the unit off at a predetermined time. Bought this for my MN house, and definitely will buy one for my AZ home for those crisp winter mornings....why use the furnace/heat pump when this will sufficiently heat the living room for pennies.
