This is a perfect stove to take the chill off a room. We bought two, putting one in the kitchen and one in the livingroom. It keeps the furnace from kicking on and keeps us cozy warm. The looks are awesome and the fire looks real. Our cat likes to sleep on top of the stove as it doesn't get hot...makes for a cute picture. I highly recommend this item.

but the heat output is not that great. I have a portable Honeywell heater which puts out more heat than these electric stoves and paid half the price for it. In order to warm my rooms up (I purchased 2 of these Dimplex CS1205 stoves) I leave it on all day & night and my rooms are not even close to 400 sq ft. I'm giving it 3 stars because it does heat up the room, but takes a lot LONGER than 15 minutes as one reviewer wrote. It takes about 10-12 hours to heat up a 15x15 room nicely (about 65 degrees).

Just what the review's title says, this heater is nice. It doesn't take up a lot of space, the unit itself doesn't get hot, the "flame" has a nice look, and it quickly throws off a lot of heat on the high setting (it has two settings: low and high).
And, shipment only took a few days. Now, I'm ready for the colder weather. Bring it.

I ordered this for my sister and she loved it, fits perfect in her living area, and the flames look very real, she said that she can get warm just watching it, it came in a gift bag, which was made out of a nice burlap I think, she loved that as well, donated it too the fire house in her area for a Santa Sack for the kids this Christmas, great price , and she loved it, very happy, thanks Amazon,

The heater arrived in good time, unharmed.
The design is perfect. Good looking, easy to operate (I use it in my B&B), light to carry and the noise it makes is gentle enough to put me to sleep! Bought two floor tiles to stand it on, just for safety sake.
